Heavenly Company of Angels

Hebrews 12:22-24

22 But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels,

23 to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect,

24 to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.

By faith in Christ, we have been brought into the heavenly kingdom of God.

We are not on the earthly site of Mount Zion, where the sound of God on the mountain terrified the Israelites.

Instead, we are brought into the heavenly mountain, the heavenly city of God.

We may not physically see it now, but we are residents and citizens of God's kingdom.

Of that new city of Jerusalem.

We are brought into the family of God, the assembly and church of Christ.

Jesus is the firstborn of the resurrection.

Through our repentance and baptism, we are registered in heaven.

As God's children and as citizens belonging there.

Like those who have gone on before us, we are God's and He makes us perfect, through Jesus our Savior and mediator.

Jesus cleanses us of all our imperfections with His blood.

We are only righteous and pure and holy through Jesus.

There is no other way.

Again, we are not physically there now, but spiritually we are.

We are registered in heaven as God's children.

A place is prepared for us in this heavenly company of angels.
