A Day in Your Courts

Psalm 84:10-12

10 For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand.

I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God

Than dwell in the tents of wickedness.

11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield;

The Lord will give grace and glory;

No good thing will He withhold

From those who walk uprightly.

12 O Lord of hosts,

Blessed is the man who trusts in You!

Do we crave to be in God's courts?

Do we understand it is better to serve in Heaven than to die the eternal death?

Do we feel it is better to be in the doorway of God's house, than to be off in sin?

We should.

God is our great provider.

As our "sun" He lights our way, guides us in life.

He provides warmth and clarity and causes plants and food to grow.

He supplies all we need.

The Lord gives us grace and mercy, forgiving us for every wrong.

And He gives us His glory, that glory Jesus fought for and won, so He could give it to us.

It is His glory and righteousness, that He shares with us.

Also notice that God does not withhold any good thing.

He only gives us what is best for us.

And He only gives us what we can handle, no more.

But we must "walk uprightly".

This means to be spiritually whole or "without blemish", to be sound, healthy.

In other words, we must be following the Lord.

If we follow God and trust in Him, then we are truly blessed.

But remember that our attitude in verse 10 is very important.

We need to desire God.

We must want to follow the Lord.

We should prefer the Lord above everything else in our life.

Value Jesus and His teachings, both learning and practicing, in our lives.
