Chosen, Royal, Holy, Special

1 Peter 2:9-10

9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.

Notice how we are God's people.

We are His chosen, meaning He has selected us in Christ.

when we join the body of Christ, we are part of a very select group of people on this earth.

The Lord makes us His royal priests.

This is not earthly royalty, this is heavenly, spiritual royalty.

Only Jesus gives us this status when we follow Him.

He elevates us above this world.

Not in a prideful, arrogant way, but in a loving, spiritual manner.

Also, in a sense of being protected and delivered, knowing Whose we are.

He makes us holy, dedicated to God's service.

A nation, though not a physical country here, of people with one goal.

To save as many souls as possible for the Lord.

Notice we are the Lord's own special people.

He claims us as His own.

Even now, well before the judgment, when He will also claim us as His.

Bought and paid for by Jesus on the cross.

We are God's people because we have that mercy.

The Lord's mercy that freed us from this world of darkness.

We may not be in heaven yet, but we are on our way.

Don't let this world distract you.

Don't forget Who you belong to.

Who is watching after you.

God's Spirit is always with us, always there to help us.

Trust in the Lord, He will always help us, because we are His.

We are special and precious to our Father.
