The Way Back

2 Chronicles 7:14

if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Prayer is about seeking and submitting to God.

Praying for His will to be done.

Asking for His forgiveness and the Lord's blood to wash away our shame.

Sometimes we stray, whether for a moment or a year.

We need forgiveness and restoration.

This only come from Jesus.

Our Father is listening, waiting for our prayers.

If we will call on Him, pray in Jesus name, repent and turn from our own ways.

If we will humble ourselves, confess our shame, our wrongness, the Lord forgives.

And He also heals.

We have witnessed Jesus' healing power in the Bible.

The Lord has that same power to heal our hearts and our broken spirits.

He restores us back to the kingdom and God accepts us back as His children.

And we need this both personally and as a society, a nation.

Can we expect to have God's blessing when we murder millions of children every year?

Do we think we have forgiveness when we do not even admit our shame?

How can we be forgiven when we did not realize we have sinned?

We must seek God and turn to His ways.

Turning to our pride is turning away from God.

Philippians 3:18-19

18 For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:

19 whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame—who set their mind on earthly things.

We must point the way back to the Lord.

We must do so kindly and prayerfully.
