Proverbs 8:7
For my mouth will speak truth;
Wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
Lies and deceptions are wicked.
We must be committed to truth and honesty, integrity.
Dishonesty, no matter how slight, must be kept out of our mouths.
We must look at it the way God does.
It is an abomination.
Have you ever known someone who you couldn't trust what they said?
You always wonder, is that true?
Or is this just a good "story"?
And when it comes to the word of God, we must be always true.
But if we will lie and be deceitful about one thing, then we will lie and deceive about anything.
This includes the Bible.
This is how we get religious leaders who twist and distort the truth of God's word.
They allow just a "little, white lie" in.
And just a little leaven, leavens the whole lump.
Just a little poison in your food will slowly kill you over time.
A small deception will grow into a huge problem of dishonesty.
There will be a loss of trust, of faith, and integrity.
Let's commit ourselves to be true as God says through Solomon in this verse.
For my mouth will speak truth;
Wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
