I want us to see where we were.

Before God, before Christ.

Ephesians 2:1-3

1 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins,

2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience,

3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.

We were dead in our sin, like everyone else.

Everyone without God and His grace through Jesus, are all spiritually dead.

They are on their way to hell and the second death.

And we were also on that path without the Lord.

We followed the world and Satan, the demonic influences of this life.

We were disobedient, chasing our desires, our lusts.

We were children of wrath and deserving of death for our sin.

Now read the next verses, see where we are with God, in Christ.

Ephesians 2:4-7

4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,

5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

"But God."

We were disobedient, "but God."

We were sinful, "but God."

We deserved death, "but God."

Our lives were empty and meaningless, "but God."

We suffered under the weight of sin, "but God."

Our Father, Who loves us and offers us His mercy.

He makes us alive in every sense of that word, through Jesus Christ.

Through His grace and Jesus' sacrifice and blood, we are robed in Christ's righteousness.

We don't deserve it; we didn't earn it.

"But God" chooses to see us as equal to Jesus, because Jesus paid it all for us.

So, God raises us up in Heaven, in Jesus, where all our blessings are.

Continually showing His grace and kindness to us for all eternity.

Today, our lives may be a mess.

Our sin may seem too much, like a huge mountain.

"But God" can change all of that through Christ Jesus.

Don't wait.

Come to the Lord today.
