Psalm 6:6
I am weary with my groaning;
All night I make my bed swim;
I drench my couch with my tears.
Some days are filled with sorrow.
We are hurting from some heartache or loss.
These moments are genuinely sad and painful to us.
They are times that show the humanity in us.
That we have a heart that cares.
Sometimes for us, sometimes for others, and sometimes both.
But see this comfort from God in a later Psalm.
Psalm 30:5
For His anger is but for a moment,
His favor is for life;
Weeping may endure for a night,
But joy comes in the morning.
Whatever our sorrow is.
Regret for our actions.
Heartache over loved ones.
Shared sorrow for a friend.
Or pain from persecution or unjust accusation.
All of these and more may cause us pain and sadness.
But this is temporary.
It should not be a permanent state.
Every day is a new day with God.
Another day of His blessings.
The joy of forgiveness and salvation.
Knowing we are the Lord's.
And no one can take us from Him.
